£100,000 and beyond

When the founders of Pure Hair got together and organised their first charity event, their goal was to raise £1,000 jumping from a plane 13,000ft high in a charity skydive for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Over a decade later, their feet have barely touched the ground, having hosted annual charity events such as white water rafting, charity balls, a sports day, quiz night, party nights and sponsored walks. Val, Ben and the Pure Hair team have raised money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Frimley Park Hospital Breast Care Charity, Charlie Grainger, White Lodge Centre & Common Ground Collective.

In 2019, Pure Hair achieved an incredible milestone reaching £100,000. It was at this point the salon stopped counting, but continue their fundraising efforts supporting local causes close to their hearts.

Today, salon co-owner Val says 'Pure Hair's fundraising focus is about giving back, supporting the local community in Lightwater and surrounding areas of Surrey. We're so proud of the work our team do, funds raised help projects such as Frimley Park Hospital's dedicated Breast Care Unit, or the regeneration of White Lodge's Hydrotherapy Pool. When you look around there is always a need, so there is always something you can do.'

In the spirit of good hairdressers achieving good things, Ben and the Pure Hair team have also gifted wonderful hairdressing experiences. Care packages for NHS staff, pamper days for the isolated elderly and over 50 haircuts for Guildford's homeless.

Giving back has always been written into Pure Hair's culture. For the team it's not something to embrace, it's who they are!

White Lodge Centre

Our chosen charity

White Lodge Centre supports disabled children, young people and adults, their families and carers in Surrey and throughout the surrounding areas. They specialise in care for those with a diverse range of disabilities, including cerebral palsy and other similar conditions. They're recognised as a centre of excellence where all the services they offer consistently attain the highest possible standards.

It costs over £2.5 million a year to run the White Lodge Centre which is not fully met by statutory sources, so they do rely on voluntary donations to maintain these vital services.

"Supporting disability, enabling ability."
